The thing about the end of my relationship in spring last year wasn’t so much the suddenness but rather realising that I really didn’t know a person I thought I knew pretty well after that many years. It was a bit a “hello” moment, to be honest. Being more honest (honester ?), it came as something of a relief, as the prevailing situation was seriously wearing me down, probably more than I realised. The time since has been… well, not exactly better, but less stressful. Concisely, I can do what I want, when I want. Selfish ? Maybe, but it’s pleasant not to have to compromise quite that much anymore. More in time.
