Hello, and welcome to From The Wildwoods, my blog. I’m Andrew G. Doe, minted in Farnham, Surrey in September 1955 and still going strong. Ish. Wildwoods is mostly about me, my life and interests, with maybe the odd social comment here and there.

The basics: I’m single, non-smoker, non-driver, barely drink at all now and I guess if I’m known for anything, it’s for being a leading Beach Boys fan, researcher and historian since 1975. I very possibly know more about the band than is sensible… but hey, the soundtrack is peerless!

Why “Wildwoods” ? Well, when asked where I live I sometimes say “the wildwoods of the Surrey/Hampshire borderlands”, and I reasoned that “Wildwoods” sounded better than “Borderlands”. More evocative.
